Camp Spaulding – now in its 97th year—

Registration now open; camperships are available

Nestled on 56 acres of forest overlooking the Contoocook River in Penacook, NH, Camp Spaulding has been providing great summer adventures to kids from throughout New Hampshire since 1921.  Operated by the YMCA in partnership with Child and Family Services of NH, a statewide, private nonprofit organization, Camp Spaulding offers an affordable overnight camping experience to boys and girls, ages 8-14.

Camp Spaulding adventures include horseback riding, canoeing, archery, arts and crafts, hiking, swimming, field trips, special event and activity days, theater games, songs by the campfire, woodworking, and high and low ropes courses.   Camp Spaulding is a down to earth approach to refreshing the spirit, challenging the body, sharpening the mind, building self-esteem, inspiring friendships, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Directed and managed by highly skilled, seasoned and caring professionals, Camp Spaulding features a diverse staff of counselors including college students or graduating high school seniors who have backgrounds or training in education, counseling, social services, recreation management, phys. ed., or the arts.   International counselors from a variety of cultural backgrounds join the team to enhance the multi-cultural experience.  A comprehensive counselor-in-training program with emphasis on leadership training and teamwork is offered for older campers.

The 2018 season is comprised of four 2-week sessions as follows:  June 24 – July 7; July 8 – July 21; July 22 – August 4; August 5 – August 18.   Campers may attend one or two sessions per summer.  Enrollment is limited to a first-come, first-served basis. Payment is due at time of registration to secure your child's spot.

Again this year, Rite of Passage Camp, a one week camp for ages 7-10. Rite of Passage Camp is geared for those campers looking for a taste of what a resident camp is like. Campers in this one week session get a sample of the resident camping experience. Dates for Rite of Passage camp are June 24 - June 30 and July 1-July 7.
Camp Spaulding is unique in its dedication to low and moderate income families. The cost for camp is adjusted to each family's income on a sliding fee scale.  Camperships (camp scholarships) are available for children from every region of the State.  It is the philosophy of Camp Spaulding that every kid deserves camp.
