Children who have an incarcerated parent sometimes feel as though they are the only ones in the world in this situation. Yet, 1 in every 28 children in the United States has an incarcerated parent.
Child and Family Services and the YMCA of Greater Nashua is pleased to partner with the Family Connections Center of the New Hampshire Department of Corrections to provide a summer camp experience for children who have a parent who is incarcerated in the New Hampshire State Prison system.
The Children of Incarcerated Parents (CIP) summer camp program was created to help these children realize that they are not alone, to share experiences with other children in similar situations, to have a traditional summer camp adventure, and get an amazing visit with their incarcerated parent!
At Camp Spaulding, these children will have the opportunity to experience two weeks of overnight camping on 55 acres of forest along the Contoocook River.
CIP special camp session: August 6-19

Having an incarcerated parent places a huge financial burden on the family left behind. The total cost for a full, two-week session for a CIP is $1,350. This pays for the camp costs, the transportation costs to the prison and food and art supplies for the two days at the prison. We hope to have all of CIP campers go to camp for FREE!
